Our Story
At the age of 32, Elaine dreamed of opening her own restaurant. Inspired by the belief that a dream written down becomes a goal, she poured her vision into her final college paper. After graduating in 2000, she never stopped planning, dreaming, and working toward that goal. In October 2022, 22 years later Elaine and her husband, Norman, finally broke ground on that dream. Today, that dream is a reality: Tim’s On The Bay.

Why “Tim’s”?
The name Tim’s is a heartfelt tribute to Elaine’s late father, Timothy—affectionately known as “Daddy Tim” by his grandchildren. A beloved native of The Forest, Exuma, Daddy Tim was the son of Jefford and Marylean Ferguson. To his family, he was more than a man he was Superman. Strong, courageous, and deeply devoted to the island he called home, he lived a life full of service and love. He wore many hats: boat captain, farmer, land surveyor, and horse jockey. Tragically, he passed away in a boating accident on Good Friday, April 3, 2015. His legacy lives on in every part of Tim’s On The Bay, his strength, his passion, and his spirit.

Elaine and Norman, both proud Bahamas Host Program participants, have always loved meeting people and sharing the vibrant spirit of The Bahamas. Their shared passion for hospitality made this journey a natural one.

Tim’s On The Bay is proudly family-owned and operated. Elaine and Norman lead as Chief Executive Officers, while their daughters hold key roles throughout the business. It’s a true team effort and that family warmth is felt in every dish, every smile, and every visit.
